Summary: This is part one of the hands-on tutorial on financial modelling for project finance using Microsoft Excel. We build the cashflows statement starting from the assumptions page followed by the computations for revenues, capital expenditure, operating expenses, income tax and financing. The highlight of this course is the automated financing repayment schedule using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

Summary: This is part two of the hands-on tutorial on financial modelling for project finance using Microsoft Excel. We continue by building the profit and loss statement and balance sheet, thereby completing the financial statements. We revisit the reasonableness of the assumptions, and expand the cashflows to compute sukuk tranches. Our automated sukuk tranching computation is the first in the world!

First Post-Covid Seminar

Neurover successfully conducted its first 2-day seminar on 16-17 Nov 2022 at the Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur after a long hiatus following Covid-related restrictions. The event was jointly organised with IFRAC Sdn Bhd, a local training company specialising in Islamic finance training.

Our participants from a variety of backgrounds – investment banking, financial advisory and corporate – participated actively in discussions, resulting in lively exchanges. Everyone had a particular interest in improving their own abilities in financial modelling as part of their work requirements and for upskilling. The seminar provided them with the opportunity to strengthen their ability in preparing professional financial models.

The attendees were feted with sumptous buffet lunches at the hotel restaurant plus appetising snacks and refreshments during the morning and afternoon breaks.

Other notable seminars

We conducted a programme for Worldwide Holdings Berhad in 2023.

It was attended by 16 staff from various departments and business units, including business development, operations, accounting and finance, and tax.

Despite the event being held in the weekend, the participants were bustling with energy and gave their undivided attention. They were eager to expand their skillset to include project finance and financial modelling.
