Do you know?
Malaysian venture capital (VC)
VCs target fintech, software and e-commerce because these sectors offer the combination of large markets, technology-enabled scalability and the potential for high-growth returns. Fintech benefits from underserved consumers and SMEs, high transaction volumes and recurring fee income; software and SaaS companies can scale with low marginal costs while generating predictable subscription revenue; and e-commerce platforms can expand through more merchants, products, delivery coverage and adjacent services such as payments and logistics. Together, these characteristics allow venture capital to accelerate growth in businesses that may become regionally scalable platforms, although each sector also carries distinct risks, including regulation and credit risk in fintech, churn and customer-acquisition costs in software, and thin margins and logistics costs in e-commerce.
